Welcome to my website! I am humbled and honored by the opportunity you have given me to serve as your state representative and bring your voice and perspective to Olympia.

I encourage you take a look around this site to learn more about me and how I am serving our communities in the 8th District.

I have been in public service for much of my life, including 21 years in the Army. The Army’s core values are summed up in the acronym LDRSHIP, which stands for Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honesty, Integrity, and Personal Courage. I aim to live by those values every day, and am committed to working across the aisle to help shape good public policy that will benefit Washingtonians in our district and around the state.

Please know I am here to serve you year-round. I welcome you to contact me anytime with your comments, questions or concerns. It is an honor to serve you in the state House and to represent the mighty 8th District.

My Priorities

Providing tax relief and alleviating financial burdens

As the ranking member on the House Community and Economic Development Committee, I am intently focused on supporting and passing legislation to grow jobs and help revitalize struggling communities around our state. We must do everything we can to alleviate financial burdens that exist due to the pandemic or because of policies passed by the majority party.

Holding state government accountable

Since joining the Legislature, one of the things I’ve been most disappointed by is the lack of willingness by Democrats to work with Republicans to fix the major problems facing our state. These problems include a homelessness crisis that has only gotten worse, a bottom 10 ranking in housing affordability, devastating data breaches, heartbreaking outcomes for children in our foster care system, and more. The status quo is unacceptable, and we must do better going forward.

Protecting our communities

Washington ranks last in the nation in terms of the number of police officers per capita. It's been that way for 11 consecutive years. If we continue passing harmful bills that make their lives more difficult, we will continue losing them to other professions and our communities will become less safe. That cannot happen, which is why in addition to fixing the Democrats' flawed police reform bills, we're also working on bills that would allocate state funding for the recruitment of new police officers and the retention of existing officers already on the job.

Empowering parents and ensuring trust in our K-12 education system

I believe parents have a right to know what is being taught in the classroom. I also believe transparency is crucial to ensuring trust in our K-12 education system. House Republicans will continue to be focused on passing policies to create transparency and empower parents to become more involved in their children's education.
